Rockstar Games just released a new background GTA Online update that fixes and removes two frequently used God Mode glitches. The update was released earlier today (May 28, 2024) and it doesn't affect normal gameplay. Background updates like this are pretty common and are often released after a weekly update comes out. God Mode glitches are quite often abused by players, which could lead to them having an unfair advantage.
As GTA Online is essentially a multiplayer title, God Mode glitches destroy the balance of the game. This is why it's necessary to remove such glitches before they get used too much.
God Mode glitches patched with new background GTA Online update
The report on the latest background GTA Online update was shared by popular Rockstar Games insider, Tez2 (@TezFunz2). Rockstar reportedly patched out two God Mode glitches with this update, which are:
- Auto Shop God Mode Glitch
- Agency God Mode Glitch
These glitches are often utilized by PS5 and Xbox Series X|S players who are looking to gain an unfair advantage in GTA Online. As the game can be quite grindy and tedious, players resort to using glitches to make the game easier and less frustrating. However, such glitches can also be used against other players in PvP mode.
PC players usually just resort to mod menus, which provide a more foolproof way of utilizing glitches that Rockstar is unable to patch out. The specific methods that players used for these two glitches are unknown, as the steps keep changing with every update. However, the Auto Shop and Agency have had God Mode glitches that Rockstar keeps patching out frequently.

So, it's most likely just the latest workaround that allowed users to enable God Mode despite the previous methods being patched out. Rockstar often releases such minor background updates to fix some bugs and glitches in GTA Online. The latest GTA Online update has managed to bring out different kinds of reactions from players.
On one hand, we have fans applauding this GTA Online update, with the above user calling out for permanent bans of God Mode abusers. Meanwhile, some are unhappy about this change, as they were likely using the glitch themselves.
In any case, enabling God Mode through glitches can get you banned anyway, so it's best not to use them in GTA Online.
