Insider claims a GTA 6 delay internally at Rockstar Games, expects an update next month

With Rockstar Games remaining silent in December 2024 as well, many fans were expecting a GTA 6 delay. Now, an insider named mvbr (X/@Mvbrr) has recently claimed that the upcoming game has been internally delayed, further stating that some of the executives at the gaming studio were also aware of the same.

The user also said that Rockstar Games might share some news regarding the situation in the next month (February 2025). They shared a thread on X, where they discussed the GTA 6 delay matter.

Insider shares latest updates on GTA 6 delay by Rockstar Games internally

On November 26, 2024, mvbr shared a GTA 6 news thread where they stated that the second trailer would be released in December 2024, and the final game would be released in October 2025. While the original post was in Portuguese, the English translation (from Google) reads as follows:

“Breaking: Rockstar Games plans to present the subsequel to the Grand Theft Auto VI Trailer in December. And the release date is scheduled for the end of October 2025.”

While the studio did not share anything related to the upcoming game in December 2024, the X user shared two updates on January 3, 2025, stating the GTA 6 delay.

Here is the English translation of the above statement:

“Yes. Everything was on track until then. Some executives knew about the game's internal delay, but did not notify other departments. The release was previously planned for spring this year, so Trailer 2 was being prepared in the previous pipeline.”

In a subsequent post, mvbr also claimed that Rockstar Games might share some new information next month.

The translation reads as follows:

“You may not need my claims any longer, but I can corroborate that there will be a possible update next month…”

It is worth noting that Rockstar Games' lack of information caused some fans to doubt that the GTA 6 delay could become a reality. However, despite the studio’s silence, there are rumors of some GTA 6 leaks floating on the internet, the most recent being an image of Lucia near a military establishment.
