It appears that Rockstar Games is preparing to bring their subscription service GTA+ to Nintendo Switch. A popular insider has noticed that the Switch is now included in the list of platforms on Rockstar's website that indicates which games are available on Grand Theft Auto Plus.
The premium subscription service, which was introduced back in 2022, provides users with access to list of ever-changing Rockstar titles. Meanwhile, Grand Theft Auto Online players gain bonus cash, free vehicles, clothing, and more.
With that in mind, here's what you need to know about Rockstar Games introducing GTA+ to Nintendo Switch.
GTA+ may be arriving on the Nintendo Switch
Popular Rockstar Games community member and insider Tez2, who has provided many accurate reports in the past, has discovered something interesting related to GTA+ on the Nintendo Switch. The "Games included with GTA+" catalog on the Grand Theft Auto developer's official website allegedly has Nintendo Switch listed as a platform, right next to Xbox and PlayStation.
However, the website doesn't currently show this modification and it was only revealed through datamining. This implies that members of the subscription service may soon be able to download all supported games for their Switch consoles. The list of games currently available with a Grand Theft Auto Plus subscription are:
- L.A. Noire (Xbox, PlayStation)
- Red Dead Redemption (Xbox, PlayStation)
- Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition (Xbox, PlayStation)
- Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories (App Store, Google Play)
- Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars (App Store, Google Play)
If Rockstar does bring their subscription service to the Nintendo Switch, the first three games will likely be available, as the latter two haven't been ported to the handheld console yet.
It should be noted that all Rockstar Games titles on the Nintendo eShop require money to purchase, so Rockstar might be following the steps they took for the recently re-released mobile games via Netflix. They might add a new version of each available title that is free to download, but requires a subscription in order to play.
After a price hike earlier this year, GTA+ is currently priced at $7.99, €7.99, or £6.99. There aren't any multi-month or yearly membership choices available for Rockstar Games' subscription service. Since the current Grand Theft Auto Plus month expires on July 31st, any changes made to the subscription service, including its availability on the Switch, will probably take effect the following month.
