Stun Rod leaks as part of GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties drip feed weapon

Rockstar Games has reportedly added two new weapons in GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC update. While the newly skinned Stun Gun is already accessible, data miners have discovered a brand new weapon called Stun Rod in the game files. Rockstar Games has yet to officially introduce the latter and is seemingly keeping it as a drip feed content.

However, data miners were quick to find its name, shape, and class of weapon from the GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC game files on PC.

On June 25, 2024, popular Grand Theft Auto parody YouTuber MMI (X/@morsmutual_) shared a post disclosing the reported first look of the new Stun Rod from the GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties update. According to them, it is a drip-feed weapon, with no guaranteed release dates.

Another YouTuber named Need For Madness Auto (X/@NeedForMadnessA) also reportedly shared the Stun Rod news stating that it would be a melee weapon.

One user named ibbinator (X/@Ibbythebeast510) asked:

“Will this just be the stun gun but melee version?”

To which, Need For Madness Auto replied positively.

The unreleased Stun Rod appeared to be the size of a baseball bat. It is like a baton that real-life cops and other defense forces use to temporarily stun unruly citizens. While the player base expected more new weapons in GTA Online, the Stun Rod also fits the narrative of the gameplay.

The Grand Theft Auto community strongly believes that the Grand Theft Auto Online Bottom Dollar Bounties is a modified version of the previously scrapped Cops ‘n’ Crooks DLC update. While Rockstar Games never directly acknowledged the fact, it has released various police-themed cars and missions in the most recent Summer 2024 update.

Three out of the nine new cars released with the GTA Online Bottom Dollar Bounties DLC are cop cars, and more are expected to be released in the future as part of the drip feed. Hence, the Stun Rod is a suitable weapon for gameplay and is expected to be released soon.
