Grand Theft Auto fans thoroughly analyzed the first official GTA 6 trailer back when it dropped in December 2023. However, it seems like some are still doing so, such as Redditor Moistycake, who recently uploaded a screenshot from the trailer wondering if it showcased a glimpse of flooding. The post has intrigued quite a few, even popular Grand Theft Auto YouTuber TGG, who recently reacted to it on X, stating that it almost confirmed natural disasters.
"This is actually a really good post. This almost confirms natural disasters in GTA 6! I’ve never noticed this before."
The shot in question arrives at the 1:04 mark in the trailer and only lingers for about a second. The crashed car had been the major focus of this scene until now, but all the water on the left side has now started garnering fans' attention. Quite a few of them believe it's a pretty good find and wonder how they never noticed it. Here are some reactions along these lines:
One fan even pointed out that the weather looked somewhat stormy in this scene, and that the game might have a mechanic where storms cause water levels to rise and flood areas, but then recede after a while.
That being said, there is also a section that's a bit skeptical and suggests this could just be the ocean or a river since the shot features a bridge. For instance, @jericho681 on X had this to say:
"looks more like fog over land around a river to me? i see bushes, but i don’t think it’s impossible for flash floods to happen. or a hurricane chapter!"
TGG, nevertheless, is still leaning toward the flood theory, as per his comment replying to @jericho681 on X.
Readers should note that all of this is just speculation as of this writing, and floods or any other natural disasters have not been confirmed to be a part of Grand Theft Auto 6 yet.
GTA 6 fans and YouTuber TGG discuss flooding theory
Moistycake's recent post proposed the possibility of floods in GTA 6 based on a shot from its debut trailer. Some fans, including popular YouTuber TGG, believe that such a feature could be a part of the upcoming Rockstar Games title, while others are doubtful.
Noted that very little is known about the game so far, and while fans expected its next trailer to drop at the recently held Take-Two Interactive earnings call, that didn't happen. However, it was confirmed at the event that GTA 6 will be a Fall 2025 release, and further details shall be divulged as we approach its launch period.
