GTA 6 continues to be one of the most anticipated video games of the past decade. It is set to release on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles in the fall of 2025. However, it appears some shareholders of Take-Two Interactive, Rockstar Games’ parent company, are skeptical about a Series S version of the upcoming game.

During Take-Two Interactive's earnings call on November 6, 2024, a shareholder seemingly asked the company’s CEO, Strauss Zelnick, about the game being played on the lower-spec Microsoft console, to which he replied:

“We support the platforms where the consumers are for as long as they’re there, and we find a way to support platforms despite different levels of tech”.

GTA 6 Xbox Series S version doesn’t make Strauss Zelnick worry: Report

During the recent Take-Two Interactive earnings call, one of the shareholders, Clay Griffin, appeared to ask the company’s CEO Strauss Zelick about the possibility of GTA VI releasing on the Series S console:

“Well, just that Series S is, by design, a lower-specced console. And presumably, GTA VI will push many boundaries technically, I would suspect.”

The statement seemingly hinted at their concerns about the smooth gameplay that Rockstar Games aims to achieve. To this, Strauss Zelnick replied:

“Yeah. Look, we support the platforms where the consumers are for as long as they're there, and we find a way to support platforms despite different levels of tech. Our labels are really good at that. I'm not really worried.”

Here are the Xbox Series S specifications that GTA 6 fans should know about:

  • CPU: 8X Cores @ 3.8 GHz (3.6 GHz w/SMT), Custom Zen 2 CPU
  • GPU: 4TFLOPS, 20 CUs @1.565 GHz, Custom RDNA 2 GPU
  • Memory: 10GB GDDR6 128-bit-wide bus

The company has also re-confirmed the GTA 6 release date for fall of 2025. Trailer 2 of the game is expected to be released anytime now.
