"RIP fun": GTA Online players have same sentiment toward this popular vehicle

Rockstar Games has secretly patched some of the vehicles in GTA Online, and fans are not happy with it. While the official date of the patch is yet to be disclosed, the community found out about it after August 13, 2024. Recently, a Redditor Findrel_Underbakk (u/Findrel_Underbakk) shared a post on r/gtaonline, stating that the BMX bicycle has also been patched:

While the main post didn't explain much, the Redditor later explained the changes in the comments:

“...they nerfed the physics of this bike without saying anything about it. You used to be able to do some pretty cool tricks and stunts with it, but now you can barely even jump the curbs...”

Many other GTA Online fans also criticized this nerf. It was understandably one of the most harmless vehicles anyone could ride in the game.

Some jokingly stated that the studio would start charging players to get the physics back.

Meanwhile, some fans also theorized Rockstar Games was testing Grand Theft Auto 6’s physics in GTA Online. Money Grinding (u/m1ygrndn) commented:

“It’s probably physics that they’re adding in GTA VI that interfere with online because of new mechanics or some technical thingamabob.”

ripped_andsweet (u/ripped_andsweet) thinks these changes are made in the online multiplayer to determine its playablility.

“I have a theory, maybe they tweaked the bike physics in GTA 6 and implemented it into GTAO to see if it’s workable for players”

Some users also shared their experiences with the BMX bicycle in GTA Online.

Readers should note that BMX is not the only vehicle that's been nerfed in the recent patch. Popular YouTuber Digital Car Addict reported that Rockstar also patched the Declasse Lifeguard (SUV), making the NPC version unstorable.

Rockstar Games has yet to share the full patch notes. Therefore, we can expect more nerf details soon.
