The GTA Plus subscription recently saw a surge in its price, a change made by Rockstar Games. After its inception in 2022 till recently, it was available for $5.99 a month. However, on April 11, 2024, the developers increased its price to $7.99 per month. This raises the question of if this subscription service is still worth getting.
Simply put, yes, GTA Plus is still a worthy investment for gamers. This article will offer reasons as to why this is the case by explaining its benefits and plans.
GTA Plus is slowly becoming Rockstar Plus
GTA Plus started by offering some in-game benefits in Grand Theft Auto Online, and it still does. From extra bonuses on certain activities to giving a flat $100,000 to each subscriber, there's something for every Los Santos hustler who signs up.
However, over the years, the service saw some additions to it. Now, subscribers can even fast travel via free Taxi services, saving a lot of their time by relieving them of having to roam around the map.
Additionally, in September 2023, GTA Plus started offering access to Grand Theft Auto Trilogy The Definitive Edition on both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. To this date, this is one of the best reasons to own a subscription, as it allows three different experiences:
- Grand Theft Auto Vice City The Definitive Edition
- Grand Theft Auto San Andreas The Definitive Edition
- Grand Theft Auto 3 The Definitive Edition
While these games still feature bugs here and there, getting access to these classic adventures while still receiving all the Los Santos bonuses in Grand Theft Auto Online is a big benefit. Moreover, after those three titles were added to the service, two more games were included:
- Grand Theft Auto Chinatown Wars
- Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories
The best part is that Rockstar Games didn’t stop there and added one more unthinkable benefit to the membership. GTA Plus is slowly becoming Rockstar Plus, as it not only offers benefits related to GTA but also provides another classic title.
After March 27, 2024, all GTA Plus members can access the complete Red Dead Redemption video game, along with the Undead Nightmare DLC. This immediately raised the appeal of the subscription.
The developers have also promised to bring more classic Rockstar titles to the service later this year (2024). This clearly shows that they are moving ahead with the subscription while finishing the development of the Grand Theft Auto 6.
All of this makes the membership still worth buying despite the increase in its monthly cost. Moreover, if PS5 and Xbox Series X/S players have never experienced the classic Grand Theft Auto titles the subscription offers, buying it is the best way to try them.
This month’s (April) subscription benefits include free the Progent Itali GTB and an additional $1,000,000, along with all of the aforementioned things. That makes now the best time to subscribe to GTA Plus if you haven’t already.
