An alleged GTA 6 leak has surfaced on the internet recently, grabbing fans’ attention. The leak contains an audio snippet slightly similar to the background scores used by Rockstar Games in its video game projects. An X user named remus_r (X/@remiremus_) shared the following media, claiming that it was from the upcoming title.
In response, another X user, Scarlett Levine (X/@SpikesLevine), expressed their disbelief:
“this is probably fake. but this sounds sick asf tho.”
In the past, there have been instances of social media users trying to gain popularity by sharing fake GTA 6 leaks on the internet. While Grand Theft Auto fans are eager to get new details about the upcoming title, they have now become more vigilant about unverified claims.
Many other users also commented on the leaked audio snippet being fake.
One user named J (X/@Nitro718) commented on how the music sounded:
“Sounds like mission music like GTA 5 when you turn off the radio”
Another user named FATALPLEASURE (X/@fatalpl3asure) talked about the audio's similarity to that of GTA 5 tracks:
“Fake. Sounds way too similar to some of the GTA 5 tracks. Even uses some of the same samples at some points.”
It is worth noting that the Grand Theft Auto 6 release date is still unknown. Hence, Rockstar Games and Take-Two Interactive (Rockstar’s parent company) are taking strict measures to prevent further leaks. Even old GTA 6 leaks are taken down the moment they hit the internet. A user named Slippser (X/@TheSlippser) pointed this out:
“Would have been taken down hours ago if it was real”
Hosea Matthews (X/@Hosea1844) sounded disappointed in how the snippet turned out to be fake:
“Man I hate that this is fake. Sounds freaking awesome!”
The gaming community is eagerly waiting to know the release date of GTA 6 so that they can delve into what Rockstar Games has been working on for years. While the unfinished leaks from September 2021 did not please some fans, the first official trailer wowed the gaming industry.
The lack of a second GTA 6 trailer is driving fans crazy
It has been over a year since Rockstar Games officially gave a sneak peek into its upcoming project. While fans did anticipate some news about the title in 2024, those hopes are now on a gradual decline. This has even led to some fans creating fake GTA 6 leaks, crazy theories, and so on.
Official social media handles of Rockstar Games continue to be bombarded with Grand Theft Auto 6-related requests frequently. However, the studio is taking its sweet time before making the next move.
