Weapons are among the most important aspects of Grand Theft Auto titles and GTA Online alone boasts a variety of firearms. This is because Rockstar Games has added new names to the list over the years via major DLCs. Discussions about their favorite weapons in the game are quite common on social media with one recently taking place on Reddit in a post by u/Beneficial_Pattern78.
In this article, we will be taking a look at the top 10 fan-favorite GTA Online weapons after the Bottom Dollar Bounties update that was released on June 25, 2024.

Up-n-Atomizer and 9 other fan-favorite GTA Online weapons (post Bottom Dollar Bounties)
10) Heavy Rifle
The Heavy Rifle in GTA Online is seemingly based on the FN SCAR from real life and can be bought for a hefty $450,000. The damage dealt per shot is pretty decent combined with a rather quick firing rate which makes this weapon a good enough choice for PvP and PvE.
9) Heavy Sniper MK II
Likely based on the Serbu BFG-50A, this weapon can be obtained by converting a Heavy Sniper into its MK II variant at GTA Online MOC or Avenger's weapon workshop. It deals heavy damage and can be equipped with various attachments like Explosive Rounds and Thermal Scope to name a few.
8) Assault Shotgun

The Assault Shotgun seems to be inspired by the UTAS UTS-15. It costs $10,000 in GTA Online and was also a part of Grand Theft Auto 4: The Lost and Damned's arsenal. It is an automatic shotgun, meaning that its firing rate is much quicker as compared to most other shotguns.
7) Combat Shotgun

The Assault Shotgun is popular among GTA Online players, but the Combat Shotgun seems a tad more preferred. This semi-automatic shotgun is Rockstar Games' iteration of the Franchi SPAS-12 and has appeared in many older Grand Theft Auto titles as well.
6) Up-n-Atomizer

Up-n-Atomizer is arguably the most unique weapon in the game. It shoots an energy pulse that blows away NPCs, players, and vehicles on impact. While it is quite fun to mess around with, the futuristic gun also helps in flipping over vehicles when they get stuck.
5) Railgun

This futuristic shotgun is one of the most powerful weapons in the game and a fan-favorite because of that very reason. It is pretty expensive, costing $730,000. That said, it deals a lot of damage and one-shots most GTA Online vehicles.
4) Special Carbine

The Special Carbine is an Assault Rifle inspired by the Heckler & Koch G36C. It has a good firing rate and damage and can be purchased for just $14,750. Additionally, this weapon can be upgraded to an MK II variant as well that can be equipped with many interesting attachments, increasing its utility.
3) Musket

The Musket is a vintage weapon that likely is Rockstar's version of the 19th Century Flintlock Musket. Besides a rather lengthy reload animation, the Musket offers high damage, utility at range, and is, surprisingly, even effective against Oppressor MK II griefers.
2) Combat MG

The Combat MG is a heavy-duty machine gun that resembles the M249 SAW from real life. It isn't among the new weapons in GTA Online and has been in the game since its inception. However, thanks to the chaos it can cause, has kept this weapon (as well as its MK II variant) a fan-favorite over the years.
1) AP Pistol

The AP Pistol doesn't deal a lot of damage per shot, but it is the rapid firing rate that makes this a deadly weapon. It is quite handy and very affordable, costing just $5,000. This is seemingly why it is the most fan-favorite weapon in GTA Online after the Bottom Dollar Bounties update.
