Lap time is an excellent metric for determining the fastest muscle cars in GTA Online. The performance stat can give players an idea of what will generally dominate races. Top speed is another valuable metric, but there are some instances where going fast isn't always the most useful. Hence, this article only focuses on lap time.

5) Dominator ASP

Note that this list was made long before any GTA 6 announcement was ever published, with San Andreas Mercenaries being the most recent patch.

The Dominator ASP is barely faster than the regular Vigero ZX in terms of lap time, with a difference of 0:00.150 seconds. Still, that trait makes the Dominator ASP the fifth fastest muscle car in GTA Online as of the San Andreas Mercenaries update.

One interesting quality of the Dominator ASP is that it also counts as a Tuner. This means that it's eligible to be used in Tuner races. Unfortunately, its performance there is rather middling compared to its solid placement in the muscle class, as being ranked 10th isn't as good as being fifth place.

4) Weevil Custom

As far as top speeds go, the Weevil Custom is the fastest non-HSW muscle car in GTA Online. Unfortunately, its lap time is only the second fastest in that regard, as the vehicle is behind the next entry on this list.

Nonetheless, the Weevil Custom is an all-around excellent automobile that players can get after they convert the regular Weevil (which is already obtainable for free).

Ultimately, the Weevil Custom is an excellent vehicle for its class, especially on the PS4, Xbox One, and PC, as HSW cars don't exist there. This automobile even has some pretty in-depth customization to make it good for people who like fine-tuning their rides.

3) Buffalo STX

Imani Tech vehicles tend to be pretty good. The Buffalo STX is capable of equipping a Missile Lock-On Jammer or a Remote Control Unit and is one of the fastest muscle cars in GTA Online. This automobile isn't much slower than its HSW counterparts, and the former even has a sizable lead over the Weevil Custom.

Players on the PS4, Xbox One, or PC should know that the Buffalo STX is the fastest option available to them. Alternatively, gamers who disable HSW modifications will also prefer this ride.

2) HSW Buffalo EVX

The HSW Buffalo EVX is only barely slower than the first-place entry on this list. Thus, the choice of which muscle car to use in GTA Online is largely a matter of personal preference. If players want an Electric Imani Tech vehicle, the HSW Buffalo EVX might be more desirable.

Electric vehicles tend to accelerate very quickly, which can make the HSW Buffalo EVX favorable in races with sharp turns. GTA Online players on tracks with primarily straight roads will find the next automobile more valuable since its top speed is significantly higher than the HSW Buffalo EVX's.

Generally speaking, using the Vigero ZX is a safe way to win any muscle car race in GTA Online. Players can safely assume that the vehicle will continue to dominate its niche, at least to the point where it should be viable in the top five. There is a good chance it will still be in the top three by the time a GTA 6 trailer drops.
