"Trailer 2, Trailer 3": GTA 6 fans expect certain things from Rockstar Games in 2025

2024 was a disappointing year for GTA 6 fans. After the reveal of Grand Theft Auto 6 in 2023, they hoped to get more information about the upcoming title from Rockstar Games, but it was not to be. Now that 2025 is here, fans are hopeful that Rockstar will be a little more communicative this time around. From the release of the highly anticipated GTA 6 trailer 2 to the successor of GTA Online, they have high hopes from the developers in 2025.

@SynthPotato, a well-known Grand Theft Auto community member, took to X to share a list of things that fans are expecting from Rockstar in 2025, including a GTA 6 release window of September to November:

“Trailer 2, Trailer 3, Gameplay trailer(s) and GTA Online reveal. Screenshots, and much more info. Release date (September – November). Pre-orders opening…”

Interestingly, @SynthPotato also talked about the possibility of GTA 6 getting delayed to 2026. However, some others were way more hopeful, with @ZZCOOL on X expecting pre-orders from May 2025:

“pre-order in May release in September…that seems very probable”

Meanwhile, @kak_ar4aaa on X expected the second trailer to come out in April.

Nevertheless, a few fans mirrored @SynthPotato's belief about a possible delay to 2026, with some even claiming GTA 6 might not hit store shelves before 2027.

Do note that Rockstar Games has neither confirmed nor denied the growing rumor of the game’s delay. As of January 1, 2025, Grand Theft Auto 6 is still scheduled to be released later this year for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Despite being far away from release, analysts have projected billions of dollars in revenue from the game.

GTA 6 sales are expected to generate over a billion dollars in its first year of release

Financial Times recently published a report where DFC Intelligence analysts projected $3.2 billion in revenue from Grand Theft Auto 6 sales in the first 12 months of its release. Moreover, a staggering $1 billion in revenue is expected from the game’s pre-orders alone.

If this projection comes true, Grand Theft Auto 6 will go down in history as one of the most successful entertainment product launches of all time.

The game is also rumored to have a $1-2 billion budget, so expecting it to make such a massive amount in revenue in its first year is understandable.
