Nintendo did not make any GTA 6 announcements at the most recent Nintendo Direct Event. The Grand Theft Auto playerbase speculated that the event could announce Nintendo Switch ports for Grand Theft Auto 5, Grand Theft Auto Online, and Grand Theft Auto 6. However, Nintendo did not mention any upcoming projects from Rockstar Games for its gaming platforms.
There is no doubt that the HD Universe Grand Theft Auto games are among the most requested video games for the Nintendo series consoles. However, Rockstar Games may never release them due to some technical issues. This article explains some of them below.

Why GTA 6 may never come to Nintendo Switch consoles
While Grand Theft Auto fans were eagerly waiting for Nintendo to make a GTA 6 announcement at the Nintendo Direct event, the game may never come to the Nintendo series consoles.
Players should understand that the Nintendo Switch is a mid-level gaming console that is designed to play medium to low-scale video games. On the other hand, Grand Theft Auto 6 is a AAA game, with many fans even calling it a AAAA title. Thus, expecting such a massive game on a low-level console is completely irrational.
Although the gaming company has confirmed that it will release a ‘successor to Nintendo Switch’ soon, Rockstar Games should not release GTA 6 on the Nintendo Switch 2. Popular video game testing organization Digital Foundry also stated that the upcoming game from Rockstar is “out of league” for the Switch 2 or any other consoles from Nintendo.
GTA 6 uses advanced gaming features such as ray tracing, global illumination, DLSS, and others, which are not compatible with the Nintendo series consoles. Therefore, it is simply not possible to play the upcoming game on the handheld console without making it look cartoonish.

Rockstar Games hasn’t even released Grand Theft Auto 5 and Grand Theft Auto Online on Nintendo Switch. These games first debuted on the PlayStation 3 and can be played on the Steam Deck. However, the Nintendo ecosystem has yet to welcome the games.
Therefore, fans are advised not to hope for a GTA 6 announcement for the Nintendo Switch Consoles. Instead, they can enjoy other Rockstar Games titles, such as Red Dead Redemption, GTA 3, GTA San Andreas Definitive Edition, and GTA Vice City Definitive Edition on the Switch.
