Cars are an integral part of the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) Online experience, and its developer, Rockstar Games, regularly keeps introducing new ones to the title.
The latest vehicle brought into the popular multiplayer action-adventure is the Albany Brigham, a Muscle Car based on the 1959 Cadillac Miller-Meteor that players can purchase from the Southern San Andreas Super Autos website.
Ghostbusters fans might take a lot of interest in the Brigham since it resembles the Ecto-1 from the films. However, this car isn't a great investment if gamers want to use it in missions or races.
With that said, let's take a closer look at why GTA Online players should avoid the Albany Brigham at all costs.
Analyzing why the Albany Brigham should be avoided by GTA Online players at all costs
Although data miners had discovered the Albany Brigham in San Andreas Mercenaries' files back in June itself, it became available in GTA Online on October 12, 2023. As mentioned, players can purchase it from Southern San Andreas Super Autos for $1,499,000.
This price tag might seem like a bargain to some, as many vehicles cost much more, but players would be better off investing that amount somewhere else. One of the biggest reasons for that is this car's performance.
According to tests conducted by popular Grand Theft Auto YouTuber Broughy1322, the Albany Brigham can hit a top speed of only 105.50 mph (169.79 km/h) and records a lap time of 1:15.559, ranking 58th and 55th, respectively, in these aspects among GTA Online Muscle Cars.
Needless to say, it won't be of much use in multiplayer races, and is even pretty slow for several missions. Furthermore, Brigham's windows aren't bulletproof, which means that players won't have any security against incoming bullets.
Even with maximum armor, this car can be destroyed easily with one Homing Missile, RPG, Grenade, Sticky Bomb, and two Heavy Sniper MK II Explosive Rounds.
Therefore, this vehicle has no use in PvP (Player vs. Player) scenarios. Its slow speed and poor explosive resistance are certainly not worth $1,499,000. There are a few alternatives that players can consider investing in while waiting for a GTA 6 announcement from Rockstar.
For instance, they can purchase the Armored Kuruma in GTA Online. It has a slightly faster top speed than the Brigham, bullet-resistant windows, and only costs $698,250 on Southern San Andreas Super Autos. It even has a Trade Price, which makes it a little more affordable.
One good thing about the Brigham, however, is its resemblance to the Ecto-1 from Ghostbusters. Therefore, fans of the film might want to add it to their collections. Besides that, there isn't any good reason for purchasing the Albany Brigham, and players must avoid it at all costs.
