Rockstar Games will release GTA 6 on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S consoles at some point during Fall 2025. Fans have often discussed among themselves about the platform they will be playing the title on. However, there is also a section of the fanbase that won't have access to it at launch and will be watching playthroughs on YouTube. The same was expressed by Redditor u/Acceptable-Battle-49 in a meme in the following post:
One of the reasons behind this seems to be pricing, as suggested in a comment by u/Outside_Profit_6455, who said this:
"Yup got no money. Been watching playthroughs of every game"
There was another such comment by u/srgabbyo7, but they hoped to save money by 2025. Here's what they said:
"I'm too broke right now but maybe in 2025 i will have the money"
While Rockstar hasn't revealed the official GTA 6 price yet, modern AAA titles and consoles do tend to be expensive. That being said, some are still considering getting a console just to be able to play the next Grand Theft Auto game at launch.
Fans will be waiting for the highly anticipated title to drop on PC. But until then, a few of them will be experiencing it on YouTube, like u/Ctrl_Champ:
"My fellow PC gamers, YouTube it is"
It should be noted that Rockstar Games hasn't announced when GTA 6 might release on PC, if at all. Nevertheless, many Grand Theft Auto titles were released on consoles first and then had a delayed release on PC. Hence, the same might end up being the case for the next installment.
GTA 6 fans reveal how they will be experiencing the game at launch
The GTA 6 release date is set for Fall 2025 and PS5 as well as Xbox Series X/S users will be getting their hands on the long-awaited Grand Theft Auto sequel first. However, those who find these consoles too expensive will be watching playthroughs on YouTube, as indicated by some of the reactions above. Some PC users will also be watching on YouTube, but there are those who will be waiting for an official PC port.
Although there has been no official word from Rockstar Games about the same, Grand Theft Auto titles do tend to launch on consoles first, as already stated. Grand Theft Auto 4, 5, Vice City, and San Andreas are all examples of this. Even Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar's latest original release, arrived to PCs a year after launching on consoles.
