The Winnipeg Jets have been one of the surprise teams of the NHL season, sitting in second place in the Central Division.

However, the Jets could still use some additional depth to make a deep playoff run, especially in the forward group.

Three players Winnipeg Jets should consider trading to improve their roster

Here are three players:

#1 JT Miller

The Winnipeg Jets should consider trading for Miller, as he's a versatile and dynamic forward who could help improve their offensive production.

Miller has put up impressive numbers in recent seasons, including a 72-point campaign in the 2019-20 season. He can play on either wing or at center, adding flexibility to any team's lineup.

The Jets could benefit from his scoring ability and playmaking skills, as they have struggled to consistently produce offense this season. His contract is steep though.

Miller will be extended till 2030 at the end of the season for a $8 million AAV hit for the Canucks. While it would likely take a significant package of assets to acquire him, he could be a game-changing addition to the Winnipeg Jets' lineup and help them compete at a higher level.

#2 Kevin Hayes

The Winnipeg Jets should consider trading for Hayes, as he's a big, physical center with strong defensive skills and the ability to contribute offensively.

Hayes has played for several teams in the NHL, including the New York Rangers and Philadelphia Flyers, and been productive in multiple offensive systems. He's a reliable two-way forward who can play in all situations, including on the penalty kill. The Jets could use some additional depth down the middle, and Hayes could provide that.

Additionally, he's signed to a reasonable, $7 million AAV contract through the 2025-26 season, making him a valuable long-term asset. While it would likely take a significant package of assets to acquire Hayes, he could be a valuable addition to the Jets' lineup as they look to solidify their playoff position in the Central.

#3 Lars Eller

The Winnipeg Jets should consider trading for Eller, as he's a versatile forward who can play center or wing and has a solid all-around game for the Washington Capitals.

He's a reliable depth player who can contribute both offensively and defensively, making him a valuable asset for any team. The Winnipeg Jets could use some additional depth up front, especially given the injury history of some of their key forwards.

Eller could be a valuable addition as a reliable depth forward who can play in all situations. Additionally, he's practically a rental, with his contract expiring at the end of the season, making him a low-risk option for the Jets, who may not have to be paid a steep price for.
