This matchup features teams in very different situations as the season nears its end.

The Coyotes find themselves seventh in the Central Division after 74 games. They have 67 points are playing for pride. With not much else on the line, they will be looking to play spoilers and give their fans something to cheer about.

The same cannot be said of the Oilers, who have had a solid season. They currently sit in third place in the Pacific Division with 91 points after 73 games. With only a handful of games left in the regular season, the Oilers will need to continue to play at a high level in order to secure a playoff spot.

One of the biggest strengths of the Oilers this season has been their high-powered offense, led by superstar center Connor McDavid and winger Leon Draisaitl. The duo have been dominant all season long, combining for over 200 points through 73 games. In addition to McDavid and Draisaitl, the Oilers have received solid contributions from forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

However, Edmonton has struggled defensively at times this season, giving up over 2.5 goals per game on average. Goaltender Mike Smith has been solid in the net for Edmonton, but the team will need to tighten up defensively if they hope to make a deep playoff run.

Looking ahead, the Oilers have a relatively favorable schedule down the stretch, with a few key matchups against divisional rivals. They will need to continue to play well and pick up wins if they hope to secure a playoff spot, as the Pacific Division is tightly contested.

Edmonton has a good chance of qualifying for the playoffs this season. With an explosive offense led by McDavid and Draisaitl, they have the ability to score goals in bunches and win games. However, they will need to improve defensively and continue to play at a high level in order to make a deep playoff run.

We will see if the Coyotes can pull off an upset in this matchup.
