Brad Marchand is a professional Canadian ice hockey left-winger, playing for the Florida Panthers in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was born on May 11, 1988, in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, Canada. Brad Marchand was selected as the 71st overall pick in the third round of the 2006 NHL entry draft. Marchand played junior hockey with teams like the Moncton Wildcats, Val-d'Or Foreurs, and Halifax Mooseheads. After his AHL stint with the Providence Bruins, he made his NHL debut in 2009, becoming a key player in the Bruins' 2011 Stanley Cup victory.

Brad Marchand grew up in Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia, His father Kevin Marchand played junior hockey. Influenced by his father, Marchand started skating at just two years old. He became close friends with future NHL player Andrew Bodnarchuk, and they played minor hockey together.
