Cole Caufield is an American ice hockey winger playing with the Montreal Canadiens in the National Hockey League (NHL), as of 2024 He was selected 15th overall by the Canadiens in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. Caufield stood out in his collegiate hockey, winning the prestigious Hobey Baker Award as the top NCAA men's ice hockey player in 2021. He soon ended his college career and signed a three-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens. Caufield made his NHL debut in an emergency recall against the Calgary Flames on April 26, 2021.

Caufield also became the third player in the NHL to score his first two career goals in overtime during a matchup against the Toronto Maple Leafs. In 2021, he played a crucial role in the playoffs where he contributed four goals and eight assists in just 20 games. In 2023, Caufield signed an eight-year-long contract with the Montreal Canadiens for $62.8 million.
