David Pastrnak

David Pastrnak is a remarkable professional ice hockey player who has spent his entire NHL career with the Boston Bruins. David Pastrnak was born on May 25, 1996, in Havirov, Czech Republic. When David Pastrnak was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the 2014 NHL Draft, he honored his father, Milan, who had passed away from cancer. His father had always wished to see him play in the NHL, and now David Pastrnak is achieving that dream.

At the time of the draft, Pastrnak was ranked fifth among European skaters. Although he was considered to be a bit on the smaller side at 6 feet tall and 180 pounds, experts believed that he would develop his skills further and become an NHL-caliber player. After signing a contract in 2014, he began with the Providence team in the AHL. However, his talent quickly shone, and he was called up to the Bruins in November. In January 2015, at the Wells Fargo Center, the same place where he was drafted, he scored his first two NHL goals against Ray Emery of the Philadelphia Flyers. Pastrnak's performance in the 2014-15 season with 27 points was promising, and he truly broke out in 2016-17, finishing second on the Bruins with 70 points. This success led to a significant contract in 2017. In the following season, he continued to impress, ranking second on the team with 80 points. He consistently improved his offensive output, even shining in the 2019 Stanley Cup Playoffs. In 2019-20, he tied for third in the NHL with 95 points and shared the Maurice Richard Trophy with Alex Ovechkin.

Pastrnak's career reached another milestone when he played his 500th NHL game in March 2022. He secured a long-term contract with the Bruins in 2023, demonstrating his commitment to the team. He had an exceptional season, scoring 61 goals and making history for the Bruins. He finished as a finalist for the prestigious Hart Trophy as the NHL's most valuable player.
