He made his debut in the American Hockey League during his rookie ECHL season. Promoted to a minor league contract with the NHL by Director of Officiating Steven Walkom in the following season, Hebert worked the Calder Cup Finals in 2011 and joined the NHL as a full-time official the subsequent summer.
