Jack Hughes is a professional ice hockey center who as of December 2024, plays as an alternative captain for the NHL team New Jersey Devils. Jack was born on May 14, 2001, to Ellen Hughes and Jim in Orlando, Florida. His professional hockey journey started with the New Jersey Devils in the 2019 NHL Entry draft.

Jack soon made his NHL debut and quickly marked his place in the NHL. He signed a three-year contract with the New Jersey Devils and recorded his first-ever NHL point against the New York Rangers on October 17, 2019. He became the third youngest player in the team's history to record a point. Soon after, he hit his very first NHL goal against his brother's team, the Vancouver Canucks. It was the only game of the game as the Devils won 1-0.
