In 2017, he earned a spot on the Hockey East All-Rookie Team and was a vital part of the Huskies' 2019 Beanpot championship team.

Davies was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the 7th round (192nd overall) of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft. In 2019, he signed an entry-level contract with the Devils, a 2-year deal worth $2.65 million, with an annual salary of $1.325 million. Later, in 2019, Davies was traded to the Nashville Predators. He spent two seasons with the Predators' AHL team, the Milwaukee Admirals. In 2022, Davies took on a new chapter in his career by joining the Buffalo Sabres as a free agent and now he is playing for the Senators as of 2024.
