David Pastrnak has been a pillar of the Boston Bruins' offensive line all season. Patsrnak scored three goals in the Bruins' 5-3 win over the Philadelphia Flyers on Sunday, bringing his season total to 60 and his career total to 300.

The 26-year-old Bruins star became the second player this season after Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers to score 60 goals. Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr were the last two players to score 60 goals in the same season (1995-96).

Interestingly, David Pastrnak became only the Boston Bruins' second player to reach the 60-goal plateau. He now joins the ranks of Bruins legend Phil Esposito, who had four 60-goal seasons.

After defeating the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3 on Sunday, the Boston Bruins earned their 63rd victory and set a new record for the most wins in a single season. Pastrnak scored a hat-trick on the night, his 15th of the career.

His hat-trick on the night helped Pastrnak reach 60 goals for the season, bringing his season total to 300. After reaching a significant milestone, the 26-year-old spoke to the media and expressed his joy.

Pastrnak said (via NHL.com):

"There is one great point that actually [Brad Marchand] told me many, many years ago, when I was young. He said, 'You have to always aim 10 goals higher than you think you can get.' So I was aiming at 60, wasn't really thinking I would get there."

The Boston Bruins' 25th overall pick has played in 80 games this season and has managed to accumulate 109 points through (60 goals and 49 assists). Pastrnak has played in 590 NHL games and has 613 points with (300 goals and 300 assists).

The Boston Bruins will next be in action against the Washington Capitals on Tuesday, April 11.
