The New York Rangers defeated the Philadelphia Flyers 3-2 in overtime on Wednesday at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. Mika Zibanejad scored the Rangers' first goal, converting a pass from Tarasenko into the back of the net on a power play to make it 1-0 at 2:51 of the first period.
Owen Tippett scored on a powerplay for the Flyers at 15:05 of the first period to tie the game at one. Scott Laughton's goal at 11:16 of the second period gave the Flyers a 2-1 lead. Chris Kreider tied the game for Rangers at 2-2 after Tarasenko launched a shot from the blue line, which Kreider deflected into the net at 10:33.
The game then went into overtime, with Vladimir Tarasenko launching a rocket from the circle in the 2:32 mark to help the Rangers secure a 3-2 victory over the Philadelphia Flyers. Tarasenko collected three points on the night with one goal and 2 assists.
