The NCAA Frozen Four is back. On Sunday (Mar. 19) afternoon, the selection committee revealed their selections for the regional tournament, where each team in the region will compete for a spot in the NCAA Frozen Four in Tampa Bay, Florida.
The last time the NCAA Frozen Four was in Tampa was in 2016 when North Dakota won in dramatic fashion over Quinnipiac. North Dakota was left standing on the Selection Show Sunday, but there will still be 16 teams competing for a college title in the Sunshine State.
Regional Schedule revealed: Where and when you can watch the NCAA Frozen Four
Allentown Regional, March 24-26
PPL Center, Allentown, Pennsylvania
Friday, March 24, 5:00 pm ET, ESPNU
No. 2 Penn St. (21-15-1) vs No. 3 Michigan Tech (24-10-4)
Friday, March 24, 8:30 pm, ET, ESPNU
No. 1 Michigan (24-11-3) vs No. 4 Colgate (19-15-5)
What to watch for: Penn State is going to be a popular pick, as they finished strong down the stretch of the season. Watch out for the lower seeds for sneaky upsets as Colgate took down Harvard to win their conference title and Michigan Tech has been overlooked all year.
Bridgeport Regional, March 24-26
Total Mortgage Arena, Bridgeport, Connecticut
Friday, March 24, 2:00 pm ET, ESPNU
No. 2 Harvard (24-7-2) vs No. 3 Ohio St. (20-15-3)
Friday, March 24, 5:30 pm, ET, ESPNews
No. 1 Quinnipiac (30-4-3) vs No. 4 Merrimack (23-13-1)
What to watch for: This is practically the northeast division. Harvard and Quinnipiac will be the two clear favorites. Harvard will look for blood in the tourney after being shocked by Colgate in the conference title.
Fargo Regional, March 23-25
Scheels Arena, Fargo, North Dakota
Thursday, March 23, 5:00 pm ET, ESPNU
No. 2 St. Cloud St. (24-12-3) vs No. 3 Minnesota St. (25-12-1)
Thursday, March 23, 9:00 pm ET, ESPN2
No. 1 Minnesota (26-9-1) vs No. 4 Canisius (20-18-3)
What to watch for: Four bitter Minnesota rivals make up most of this bracket. SCSU and MSU will be must-see TV in the first round, but it might not even matter. The Golden Gophers are a fully loaded favorite with NHL talent all over the board. They should roll through the regionals.
Manchester Regional, March 23-25
SNHU Arena, Manchester, New Hampshire
Thursday, March 23, 2:00 pm ET, ESPN2
No. 2 Boston U. (27-10-0) vs No. 3 Western Mich. (23-14-1)
Thursday, March 23, 5:30 pm ET, ESPNews
No. 1 Denver (30-9-0) vs No. 4 Cornell (20-10-2)
What to watch for: Any of these four teams could make a spot in the Frozen Four. Denver won the whole thing last year and look as dangerous as ever this year.
Boston is always in the mix, but look out for Western Michigan as a surprise team to go on a run in the tourney; they’ve been extremely strong all regular season.
