NHL Twitter loved the 'Big City Greens Classic' - "Can we make it a yearly thing?"

For the first time in NHL history, the game between the New York Rangers and the Washington Capitals was broadcast live as an animation involving characters from the popular show Big City Greens. The NHL imagined it to reach the younger generation and generate more interest to help the sport grow.ESPN, Disney Channel, and the NHL have partnered to create the show. ESPN Edge Innovation Center, NHL EDGE, and their partners will handle the production.
