The Edmonton Oilers suffered an embarrassing loss in a shootout against the New York Rangers after taking a 4-1 lead. On a night where everything seemed to go wrong for the Oilers, Connor McDavid reached the 100-point milestone for the sixth time in his career.

NHL twitter reacted to the Edmonton Oilers' loss in the shootout and Connor McDavid's milestone,

"Rangers with a bit of ‘payback’ for early season loss to Oilers after leading by three goals. Oilers tonight led by three in First Period Nice win for Seventh in a Row" tweeted redicularity
"As an Oilers fan, I think I speak for everyone when I say we need to rebuild. It’s time to give up and trade Draibust and McFraud. This team loses year after year and i will NOT be renewing my season ticket plan. I’ll be taking my fandom to Manchester United." tweeted Micheal4322
"#Oilers Connor McDavid joins Bobby Orr, Wayne Gretzky, Dale Hawerchuk and Mario Lemieux as the only players in NHL history with six 100-point seasons at age 26! #LetsGoOilers" tweeted EricJFriesen
"Give the #Rangers a ton of credit. Handled the #Oilers in the 3rd., then they tie it up, and stood our boys up in the 3rd.Now it's the shootout. I don't like our odds." tweeted Oiler_Country
"@ryanwhitney6 gonna be a tough night trying to defend the OILERS at all. 3rd period was AWFUL with 1 shot, a PP in OT with 1 shot, and than 5 straight misses in the shootout…Oilers couldn’t have choked that 4-1 lead any worse." tweeted NumbersPicky
