The Quebec native has notched points in five of his last six games, including two power-play assists. Losing him for the rest of the season is a major blow to the team's playoff hopes.

Chychrun's ability to return before the end of the 2022-23 season is uncertain. The 24-year-old defenseman missed Friday's practice and was also absent from Saturday's game against the New Jersey Devils.

Since joining the Senators from the Arizona Coyotes on March 1. Chychrun has recorded two goals, five points, 30 shots on net, 27 blocked shots, and 12 hits in 12 games.

Ottawa Senators forward Derick Brassard placed on Injured reserve

The Ottawa Senators have announced that forward Derick Brassard will miss the rest of the 2022-23 season due to a broken fibula that required surgery on Saturday.

Brassard suffered the injury during Thursday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers. The veteran center finished the season with 13 goals and 10 assists in 62 games.

With Brassard out, Ridly Greig will join the Senators' lineup as a replacement in the bottom six forward group for Saturday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
