Connor McDavid scored his 61st goal of the season during the Edmonton Oilers' 2-0 victory over the Los Angeles Kings on Thursday. His 61st goal marked his 300th NHL career goal for the Oilers captain in just 563 games.
McDavid's 300th goal was a beauty to watch. He split the LA Kings' two defenders near the Oilers' blue line to skate the puck into the back of the net with a beautiful individual short-handed goal.

At 26 years and 76 days old, Connor McDavid became the 11th-youngest player in the history of the National Hockey League to achieve the 300-goal plateau.
McDavid is having one of the best seasons an individual can have. The Edmonton Oilers captain has been consistently performing for the team this season. The 26-year-old is topping the NHL leaderboards with 144 points in 76 games, totaling 61 goals and 83 assists.
The Oilers captain has averaged 22:39 playing time on the ice this season and has 34 Penalties in Minutes (PIM) with a plus/minus of +15. McDavid has scored 21 (PPG) and has 46 (PPP) with four (SHG) and ten game-winning goals for the team this season.

The Edmonton Oilers (44-23-9) hosted the Los Angeles Kings (43-22-10) at the Rogers Arena on Thursday, March 30. The Oilers' previous matchups against the LA Kings has not gone in their favor, as they came out losing in all of their matchups this season.
However, the Oilers bounced back and secured their first win of the campaign against the LA Kings with a 2-0 scoreline. Evander Kane scored the opening goal for the Oilers at 19:08 of the first period after converting an assist from Leon Draistl into a slap shot.
Meanwhile, captain Connor McDavid scored a short-handed goal at 3:53 of the third period to sail the Edmonton Oilers to a comfortable 2-0 win. Both teams will once again meet for one last match this season on April 4.
