Noel Acciari is an American professional ice hockey center for the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League. Noel Acciari is married to Kaitlyn Chisholm.
Kaitlyn Chisholm and Noel Acciari met during their first week as freshmen at Providence College in 2011, and they've been "kind of inseparable ever since," according to Kaitlyn.
Kaitlyn claims that Noel, a member of the college hockey team, told a friend a few weeks later that he planned to marry her someday. He wasn't bluffing, as it turned out.
After graduating in 2015, the couple relocated to Boston's Seaport, where Noel joined the Bruins. On a Friday night in June 2017, Noel took Kaitlyn out to dinner before strolling along the Harborwalk, where they frequently brought their dog, Thor.
As they approached Fan Pier Park, Kaitlyn spotted a circle of white rose petals on the ground. Noel led her to the center of the circle and got down on one knee to propose to her. Noel summoned Thor, who surprised Kaitlyn by running around the corner with a sign that read, "Daddy asked and Mommy said yes."
The couple knew they'd have a summer wedding because Noel's hockey schedule allows only a short window between the end of the season and the start of training, but they debated whether to hold it in the city or Noel's home state of Rhode Island. After deciding on a location, the couple focused on the overall look and feel of the event. Kaitlyn Chisholm was Acciari's longtime girlfriend before they married in Rhode Island on July 14, 2018.
Noel and Kaitlyn have two children, Greyson and Sutton.
Noel Acciari's NHL career and contract details
Noel Acciari was on the ice with his Providence College teammates on April 11, 2015, celebrating the school's first national championship after a 4-3 victory over Boston University. The game was at TD Garden, the home of the Boston Bruins.
Acciari had no idea that less than a year later, on March 1, 2016, he'd be back at the arena, this time in a Bruins uniform, making his NHL debut against the Calgary Flames. However, success in hockey has always been close to home for the 5'10", 203-pound center from Johnston, Rhode Island.
Acciari rose to prominence in the local community after helping Bishop Hendricken High School in nearby Warwick win the state championship in Providence in 2007. Acciari joined the Providence College hockey team three years later.
Over the past three seasons, he has demonstrated offensive ability and a desire to excel in defense. During the Friars' championship season, Acciari scored 15 goals and 32 points and was named the NCAA East Regional Most Valuable Player and the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Year.
The undrafted Acciari signed an entry-level contract with the Bruins on June 3, 2015. He scored 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists) in 45 games for Providence of the American Hockey League the following season before joining Boston for 19 games.
Noel Acciari signed a three-year contract with the Florida Panthers on July 1 after assisting the Bruins in the 2019 Stanley Cup Final, a seven-game loss to the St. Louis Blues. He was named the NHL First Star for the week ending December 22 after scoring seven goals in three games, including two hat tricks in a row.
