His hockey career started with the Buffalo Saints 14U AAA hockey club and he advanced to 16U AAA hockey club. Patrick relocated to Detroit, Michigan, when he was 14 to play for the Honeybaked Hockey Club. He entered the NHL in 2007 and soon marked his impact with the Chicago Blackhawks. Patrick is the first American-born player to win the Hart Trophy and the Art Ross Trophy.
