Roderic Jean Brind'Amour is former Canadian ice hockey professional in the NHL. Born on August 9, 1970, is currently serving as a head coach for the Carolina Hurricanes of the National Hockey League.

On June 7, 2011, Brind'Amour became the assistant coach and development coach for the Carolina Hurricanes, overseeing the development of forwards and serving behind the NHL bench. He later took part in a ceremony representing the Hurricanes before the Charlotte Checkers' first home game as the AHL affiliate.

On May 8, 2018, Brind'Amour assumed the role of the Hurricanes' head coach. In his debut season, he led the team to its first playoff appearance in ten years, reaching the Eastern Conference finals but being swept by the Boston Bruins.

By April 26, 2021, Brind'Amour achieved the milestone of leading the Hurricanes to the playoffs for three consecutive seasons. On June 17, he signed a three-year contract extension and was honoured with the Jack Adams Award as the NHL's coach of the year.

In his rookie season 1989-90, he earned a place on the All-Rookie Team, finishing third in the team for goals. He joined the Philadelphia Flyers in 1991 and quickly made his impact on the new team.

Rob's notable achievements with the Flyers were two short goals in a single power play during the 1997 playoffs. For his contribution, He became a key player for the Flyers. Rob was traded to the Carolina Hurricanes in 2000, contributing to the Stanley Cup Finals in 2002. In 2005, he was named the captain of the team and led the Hurricanes to their first-ever Stanley Cup championship in 2006. With his retirement in 2010, Rob's jersey number 17 was also retired.
