Vasily Podkolzin is a winger for the Vancouver Canucks. He was selected 10th overall by the team in the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He made his NHL debut in October 2021.

Vasily Podkolzin's Journey to the NHL
Vasily started playing hockey at an early age. He has been playing the sport professionally since he was 12 years old.
In 2018, Podkolzin made his Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) debut with SKA Saint Petersburg. He became the first player born in the 21st century to play in the KHL.
Podkolzin spent time in three different leagues during the 2018-19 season. He played three games with SKA Saint Petersburg, 14 games with VHL club SKA-Neva, and 12 games with MHL club SKA-1945.
Podkolzin was a projected top two pick heading into the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. He was selected 10th overall by the Vancouver Canucks.
Podkolzin amassed 12 goals and 14 assists in 79 games last season. He has spent most of this season playing for AHL club Abbotsford Canucks.
Podkolzin was called up by the Canucks prior to their game against the New York Rangers on February 8. He scored a goal in the second period and recorded three shots on net. The Canucks lost 4-3 in overtime.
The Canucks are currently sixth in the Pacific division with a 20-27-4 record. They are currently 14 points out of a playoff spot in the Western Conference.
