Scott McLaughlin shared a wholesome message on social media as he prepares to join Shane van Gisbergen and others for Trackhouse Racing's first experience at the IMSA 24 Hours of Daytona. The team has partnered with TF Sport and will run the Corvette.
Trackhouse Racing currently participates in the NASCAR Cup Series and MotoGP and will soon add another race to its portfolio. The team signed with TF Sport to take part in the 24 Hours of Daytona in January. The team will be running in an IMSA-sanctioned race for the first time. McLaughlin and Van Gisbergen will be joined by Connor Zilisch and Ben Keating in the endurance race next year.
After the announcement, McLaughlin wrote on X (formerly Twitter):
"Back in a tin top with my ol’ mate! Excited to get to Daytona and go hunting for some watches with these guys! Appreciate the opportunity!"
McLaughlin has been racing in IndyCar since 2020 with Team Penske. The team has cars in both the NASCAR Cup Series and IndyCar. He finished the season in third place.
Trackhouse Racing owner comments on competing in 24 Hours of Daytona
Trackhouse Racing's association with TF Sport will be titled "Trackhouse by TF Sport." They will field a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R in America's most prestigious endurance race.
Trackhouse Racing's owner and founder Justin Marks is quite optimistic about heading into the competition for the first time. He said that it was his and the team's dream to compete in the endurance race. He also expressed confidence in the drivers, Scott McLaughlin and Shane van Gisbergen, to clinch the title.
"Participating in the Rolex 24 has been a dream since the inception of Trackhouse Racing," Marks said in a team statement. "We wanted to make sure we could enter with a top-notch partner in Chevrolet and TF Sport as well as a driver lineup that could compete for the victory. We feel like this group we have put together can compete for the trophy."
Commenting on the partnership with TF Sport, Marks said:
"We wanted the best partners because we know how difficult this task will be. We are racing against some of the best sports car teams and drivers in the world."
Trackhouse Racing has picked a mix of experienced and young drivers. Shane van Gisbergen has enough experience on road courses in Touring. Meanwhile, Scott McLaughlin has spent his time racing in the IndyCar series.
Connor Zilisch has been a strong prospect for JR Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, and Ben Keating has gained experience in the World Endurance Championship.
