A historic win for the Hurricanes Women as they've beaten the Strikers for the first time in seven years! They were not at their fluent best with the bat, but with the ball, they were on top right from the beginning. They choked the flow of runs early on with key wicket's as the Striker's batter's never really got going. Laura Wolvaardt and Tahila McGrath got a partnership going but they failed to accelerate at key moments which cost the Striker's in the end.

For the Hurricanes, Molly Strano and Nicola Carey picked up two wicket's each. Carey in particular was brilliant as she dismissed the Striker's captain Tahila McGrath during the power surge. Heather Graham too was really economical as she gave away just 23 runs in 4 overs to follow up her brilliant 50 with the bat. In the end 152 was too big a total for the Striker's as they fell short by 23 runs.

Overall, a great day for the Hurricanes as they finally broke their seven year drought against the Striker's. The Striker's will have to go back to the drawing board and re assess themselves, as they head into the most crucial stage of the tournament.

Heather Graham has been adjudged as Player of the Match.
