We now come to the close of our coverage of the 2024 ICC Men's Under19 Cricket World Cup for the day. Hugh Weibgen, Australia captain: I think we got off to a good start today, Dicko (Dixon) batted pretty well, we were able to contribute through the middle, and we got to a decent score - 266 - we were quite happy with that. Everyone really knows their role in the side and everyone contributed with the bat, ball and field as well. In the first couple games, we probably went out a bit hard, was just about giving ourselves a bit more of a chance in today's game. Starting off a little bit slower, but we knew we could cash in at the end. He's a superstar, Callie (Vidler) is a super kid. Great player, I think he'll go very far. It's just good seeing him bowl in full flight. Makes my job a whole lot easier with so many bowlers, I can give the ball to five quality seamers and two spinners. To be honest, I don't really know how it all works (the points system) plan is to try and win each game, we got a break tomorrow, we'll just try and come out the next day really well.

Ben McKinney (England captain): First and foremost, Australia played really well, they got 50 too many, we looked at the recent scores, that's what we thought, we thought we could chase it down, obviously didn't happen. Benkenstein is one of the best fielders, mistakes can happen and some cost more than others, they do happen in cricket. The way we've chased, the first two games was brilliant, we wanted to do that again here, it spun well here, we thought could use our spinners and keep them down to 200 or 220, chase it from there and we couldn't do it today. We had two most destructive players still in the middle, was a big ask, but obviously didn't happen. I think against the West Indies, we didn't perform great, but we thought we could come and beat the Aussies here, with two games to play but hopefully we win both and with some luck get through.

Hugh Weibgen is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: It was probably right up there in cricketing memories, the win at the end makes it even better, it's good fun with the partnerships out there with couple of good mates. We've played quite a few games here now, know the ball turns with variable bounce, gave myself some time early to get used to the conditions. That was the plan, tried to get myself in, picked up ones and twos, then cashed in later. I was in quite early, against pace I tried to score quick when I got the width, fortunately got dropped on 19 which definitely helped, against a spin tried to wait for the bad balls to punish. In the last game, cross batted shots, tried to play straight this time and it worked.

The rain delay seemed almost twice longer than the duration of time the England batters spend at the crease as a collective. There were flashes of brilliance at time, particularly from Ben McKinney and Hamza Shaikh, but the England top-order simply lacked the temperament to build an innings and bat long. Callum Vidler, with his immense pace, movement and bounce off the deck, turned out to be too good for the England line-up.

McKinney, Shaikh and Noah Thain tried fighting fire with fire - McKinney in particular, looking to latch on at anything that was full or had width. But Vidler, who trapped Theo Wylie in front in his first over, had the better of the England captain with one that came back in to the left-hander. Both Shaikh and Thain then fell to rather ordinary strokes. Vidler, who went for quite a few amidst picking up those wickets, ended up bowling a wicket-maiden.

The rain-break did no favours to the England outfit at all. Australia were more than eager to get back on the park - they needed 10.3 overs to conjure a result - as it turned out, they took a mere 44 deliveries to wrap things up. The England middle and lower order had no option but to go for their shots, and ended up perishing one after the other.

The bait was laid, Tazeem had a hoick, and holes out! Australia seal a colossal win, and are all but in the semi-final now!

16.5 Tom Campbell to Tazeem Ali, OUT! MILES UP IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! That is all over. Australia annihilate England here. What a thumping performance from the Australia Under 19s as they thrash England Under 19s, lose by a mammoth 110 runs. Drags it short on the off-stump, turning back in. Tazeem looks to clobber it out of the park but skied it. Konstas comes sliding at long-on to his right and pouches it safely.

Hicks took a while to get his hands to the stumps, missed it the first time, and still managed to catch Allison short! None of the players were prepared for the decision - Allison was set to take his stance when the red light came up!

15.4 Raf MacMilllan to Charlie Allison, OUT! STUMPED! Umpire wants to go upstairs to check this. Darted the length delivery outside the off-stump as MacMillan spots Allison using his feet. Allison reaches and misses, Hicks collects, quick with his glove work to remove the bails off second time, he misses the first time though but might've done the job the second time still as Allison tries to slide his bat in.
