Heather Knight:"It was a fantastic game of cricket. Although we managed to build a crucial partnership towards the end, it was unfortunate that it didn't quite yield the desired result. Chasing 180 was always going to be a tough ask, but I'm proud of the way the team fought till the very end. There were several positives to take away from today's game, and we'll definitely be carrying that confidence forward. The girls showed great resilience and determination, and I'm incredibly proud of their efforts."

In response, England Women's Maia Bouchier and Danni Wyatt made a solid start, navigating the Australian bowling attack with caution.
