An exceptional run-chase as AVE completes it in style to secure a comfortable win in the end. Raghupathy's quickfire fifty powered them in a towering chase of 138 to seal the match with 5 balls to spare.

AVE got off to a flyer of a start from their openers Jayasundaram and Ragupathy as they picked up 46 runs in the powerplay to set the tone.

Vigneshwaran got the first break in the fourth over and WAR could pick up only another scalp throughout the game - which came as late as the eighth over.

Although the batters dominated the proceedings, it looked like the game will go down all the way to the wire. However, Vijay Rajaram's arrival to the crease after the loss of Mohan Doss changed the complexion of the game. With 19 needed of 12 balls, he slammed 18 in the penultimate over to quash all hopes for WAR.

With this victory, AVE pick up their fourth win in 7 games while WAR remain in second place after slumping to their third loss of the tournament.
