Bologna are up and running in this competition with a narrow win against Padova CC in the Group B curtain-raiser! After putting up 124 runs on the board, the bowlers have come out and done the job for them! Post a swashbuckling half-century, Gujjar displayed his skills with the ball in hand, snaring a couple of wickets and conceding just 16 runs.

Padova CC were particularly slow in the powerplay, with them garnering just 24 runs as compared to Bologna's 40 runs at the end of three overs. That is perhaps what made all the difference in the world as Padova were very watchful in their approach. They got a couple of good overs under their belt but in the end, fell short.

Pidusha Fernando and Pathirage Sadev played some good knocks with the bat but failed to convert their starts into big scores. While the latter perished playing the big shots, the former was deprived of strike a little too long, resulting in the required run-rate soaring. All-in-all, quite a convincing performance by Bologna and they certainly deserved to emerge on top in this fixture!
