That's it from the 3rd game of Big Bash League 12. Renegades shine over Heat and get the victory. This is Divyansh signing off on behalf of my partner, Mohul. Stay tuned at Sportskeeda. Goodbye.
Innings Summary.
Melbourne Renegades win by 22 runs.
Brisbane Heat: 144/6 (20.0) Jimmy Peirson 43 (30) | Colin Munro 35 (30) Akeal Hosein 3/15 (4.0) | Andre Russell 1/26 (2.0)
The Renegades start off their campaign with a comfortable win, they were brilliant in all aspects today. Started off well with the bat and got the runs that they can defend. The bowlers took wickets and bowled economically and the fielders saved some crucial boundaries.
The lack of boundaries and dot balls have cost Heat here, only 5 fours and 6 sixes in the whole innings. Peirson and Munro got their starts but could not convert and Munro played slowly while chewing up deliveries. Whiteley and Bazley tried their best with that last partnership, but too many runs to chase for them with less deliveries. They were always behind the required run rate and lost wickets regularly.
Hosein was brilliant with the ball, he took 2 wickets in his first two overs and gave his team the perfect start. He took 3 in total, while Russell and Rogers took a wicket each. Everyone else was brilliant as well, as they kept the batsman on a leash and did not leak runs.

The fielders have complimented the bowlers well, such saves are important.

Last over coming up and Rogers will bowl it. 30 to defend. Richardson ends his night with a tidy over, he almost got a wicket in the over but Whiteley is dropped twice.
