Thanks for sticking with us in one of the most crazy, high-quality games of cricket you'd see on a random Wednesday afternoon. I (Rudransh) and Bidipto will sign off for now, hoping you are as happy as the table-toppers Brisbane Heat for the rest of the day!
Michael Neser has been adjudged the Player of the Match! Here is what he has to say.
Michael Neser: Happy to score some runs with the bat after a long time! It was one of those innings where everything clicked. Once the new ball got softer, it got easier to bat on. It was a good wicket to bat on and that came to the fore. I'm not a big celebration person, and, I had a couple of overs to bowl after taking that catch to dismiss Josh Inglis, so, kept the emotion to myself!
Brisbane Heat take a massive 23-run win! They stay unbeaten in the competition led by a supersonic performance from Michael Neser and contributions from just about everyone.
Michael Neser 64 (30) | Spencer Johnson (2/23) Laurie Evans 51 (29) | Ashton Agar (2/29)
The match of so many new, unprecedented antics and dramas ends with the repeat of the only constant this season - Xavier Bartlett picking a wicket! Don't let the scoreboard deceive you, this was an evenly contested clash of the two best teams in the tournaments. Clash of two titans where one just came on top.
The Heat wanted 170 in the first innings. Thanks to Neser, they got 191. And the big fast bowler came to pick the first wicket of the second innings - the very belligerent Zak Crawley. The Heat's bowlers got more than double swing than their counterparts and managed a quieter powerplay as well.
Hardie and Whiteman struggle off the blocks and lost wickets trying to force the pace. Inglis and Evans looked stunning but the in-form Johnson came for his second spell to get the wicketkeeper batter through a superman catch from, that man again, Michael Neser!
Evans continued his assault till the 19th over but quickly ran out of partners. Heat clinically finished things off in the slog overs.

Xavier Bartlett
2/29
19.6 Xavier Bartlett to Jhye Richardson, WHAT A FINISH! BRISBANE HEAT REMAIN UNBEATEN AS BARTLETT TAKES TWO! Full and fast at the base of leg-stump. Richardson wanted to dig this one from the back foot but could not quite get the bat down in time. It took a bit of the bottom edge and squirted on to leg-stump to end the match!
Jhye Richardson b Xavier Bartlett 6 (6b, 0x4, 0x6)
19.5 Xavier Bartlett to Jason Behrendorff, inch-perfect yorker on off-stump. Dug out somehow from the block hole to the left of the silly point position for a single.
Bartlett comes the closest to not picking a wicket in a match this season but that record continues!
19.4 Xavier Bartlett to Hamish McKenzie, BOWLED HIM WITH A BEAUTY! Full and straight, you miss, I hit! Aimed at the base of off-stump, McKenzie finds it hard to keep it out and the ball crashes into that off pole to send him on his way!
Hamish McKenzie b Xavier Bartlett 6 (5b, 0x4, 0x6)
19.3 Xavier Bartlett to Hamish McKenzie, back of a length with pace taken off outside off-stump. Swung away over the in-field down to wide long-on for another brace.
19.2 Xavier Bartlett to Hamish McKenzie, full and slow on leg-and-middle. Heaved away to the left of wide long-on from the crease for a couple of runs.
19.1 Xavier Bartlett to Jhye Richardson, over the wicket, into the pitch slower delivery on leg-stump. A big swing and a miss across the line but the batters take a leg-bye to point.
30 required off the last over... it'll only go one way from here

Paul Walter
2/30
18.6 Paul Walter to Jhye Richardson, short and slow on off-stump. Swung away to long-on by clearing the front leg for a single only to retain strike.
18.5 Paul Walter to Hamish McKenzie, short and slow on middle-stump. Pulled away to deep square-leg off the back foot for a single now.
18.4 Paul Walter to Jhye Richardson, GOOD EFFORT AGAIN! Good length slower and wider ball outside off. Slashed to the left of deep cover this time on the back foot but Marnus was good enough to ride this one and keep it to three.
18.3 Paul Walter to Hamish McKenzie, back of a length on off-stump. Pulled around to deep mid-wicket off the back foot for a single only.
IT'S TALL PAUL'S HEIGHT! It's all because of his height. He dug it in short on the bouncy Gabba track and extracted what he wanted - enough bounce to get the top edge!
18.2 Paul Walter to Laurie Evans, CAUGHT AND BOWLED! Into the pitch and going across the right-hander with the pace taken off. Evans went for the flat-batted swat across the line but top edged it off the back foot. Walter got under it comfortably and took a really important high catch at this stage of the innings! Laurie Evans c & b Paul Walter 51 (29b, 2x4, 3x6)
18.1 Paul Walter to Jhye Richardson, over the wicket, full and slow outside off-stump. Thrashed on the up to the left of long-off for a single this time.
