British and Irish Knights have leveled the scores in the Weston Shield as they register their first victory over Team Europe and make the equation 1-all with everything to play for in the upcoming matches in this 9-match series.

In the end, it proved to be a rather comfortable victory for BIK who put in an all-round performance who were the better team both with the ball as well as with the bat and have come up trumps.

Chasing 171, team Europe got off to a horrible start as they lost two wickets in the first over and they just could not recover from there one. It kept getting worse for them and the 3-wicket over from Greatwood to end the powerplay put them completely out of the contest as they were left tottering at 30/6.

Damgaard showed that it was not so tough to bat as he smacked his way to a powerful 65 but that was never going to be enough for Team Europe who had been blown away early. A spectacular blitz in the end from Khalid Ahmadi who scored 37* off 9 balls ensured that Europe got a point out of this encounter which could prove to be very crucial and also reduced the margin of defeat.

The bowlers of BIK were spectacular with the ball and all of them barring Mike Frost, who bowled the last over had something to show for in the wickets column. Toby Greatwood was the pick of them with 3 wickets but a whole lot of credit needs to be given to Jack Jarvis who started it all of with 2 wickets in the first over.

Talking about giving credit, there was one man who deserved all the credit for the show he put on in the first innings with the bat.
