A thumping win for Independents as they open their account on the opening day of the European Cricket League. It just took 26 deliveries for the batters to chase this score as Tissier just hammered the bowling attack to all parts, smashing 30 off just 14 deliveries, while Nightingale scored 21 before Vasilakis rattled his leg-stump.

Things turned out easy-peasy in the end, and it's all because of Peatfield, who became the first bowler to take a hat-trick in this year's edition of European Cricket League, and Matthew Stokes picked up three wickets to help his team bundle out Byron for 66 runs. In replay, Stokes didn't make the same impact with the ball as he was dismissed early on but Tissier's fearless approach helped Independents to chase this score without breaking any sweat
