MATCH SUMMARY
Cividate won by 2 runs
Adnan Muhammad 49(19) | Muhammad Arslan 1/12(1) Mandeep Singh 65*(21) | Dara Shikoh 2/12(2)
What an absolute humdinger of a contest we have witnessed as Ansh Sharma and Cividate hold their nerves right at the end and sneak out a win off the last ball despite a valiant effort from Mandeep Singh in the run chase.
This game should have been long over, it should have been dead and buried a long while back. Bergamo CC needed 116 off the final 6 overs and they had no business bringing this so close. But then, Mandeep Singh and Baljit Singh decided to take matters in their own hands and showed their hitting prowess as they bought Bergamo CC from a position of hopelessness (116 needed off 36 balls with 8 wickets in hand) to parity or may be even ascendancy (33 needed off 12 balls with 8 wickets in hand) with a 84-run partnership in just a space of 4 overs.
But then, Baljit got out at the wrong time and even though Mandeep fought till the end with 4 needed off the final ball he could not take his team across the line and Cividate prevailed keeping their unbeaten run intact in this tournament.
For Cividate, Muhammad Arslan has to be given a lot of credit for bowling his 2 overs in the powerplay giving away just 12 runs and taking a wicket too in such a big run chase.
Earlier, it was some swashbuckling hitting from the openers of Cividate, Muhammad Arslan and Zain Ali who stitched a 109-run partnerhsip in less than 6 overs to set up a big score for them. Arslan got a 19-ball 59 while Zain Ali fell just 1 run short of his own fifty.
Bergamo pulled things back nicely towards the end with 7 wickets in the last 26 balls and that almost proved to be enough for them as they all but hunted down this target in a game of very close margins.

9.6 Ansh Sharma to Mandeep Singh, MISSES IT!!!!! RHAPSODIC CELEBRATIONS. Hard length outside off. Mandeep slashes at it and misses. Sonu Lal ran a bye but Mandeep was already disappointed. He managed to jog away and complete the run as Cividate fielders had already started celebrating.
4 runs needed off the last ball
We have a last-ball thriller, all the three results possible here
9.5 Ansh Sharma to Mandeep Singh, THIS HAS GONE STRAIGHT UP..... but lands safely near midwicket on the edge of the inner ring. They run two.
6 needed off 2
Mandeep has got 2 out of the three maximums needed, what will he do next, will he run or look for a maximum again
9.4 Ansh Sharma to Mandeep Singh, CLEAN HIT!!! WOW! It was fuller but Mandeep was up to the assignment. He picked this clean and deposited it a long way over the midwicket fence.
12 off 3 now
9.3 Ansh Sharma to Mandeep Singh, SIX!! ENORMOUS. He stands tall and pulls it over in front of square for a biggie. Pressure on the bowler now.
18 runs needed in 4 balls, Mandeep on strike. Can he smash 3 over the ropes?
9.2 Ansh Sharma to Sonu Lal, MISCUED!! But it lands safely. They run one.
19 runs needed off 5 balls
9.1 Ansh Sharma to Sonu Lal, FOUR!!! Great start to the over. Plays the lofted drive over extra cover and the ball scampers away between two converging men.
Ansh Sharma, right-arm medium, will bowl the last over
23 runs needed off the last over
Exceptional penultimate over from Babar Azan who was taken to the cleaners in his first over. Mandeep has got to his fifty, a 17-baller for him but he needs to face the majority of the balls in the last over

8.6 Babar Azan to Mandeep Singh, IN THE AIR........it lands safely near the point boundary and trickles over for four. Was a lofted drive that was miscued but he would take the end result with glee.
