Match between Cricketer CC and Indian CC Vienna has been called off due to rain!
Unfortunately, it was inevitable beyond a point with conditions just not fit for playing and the players' safety of utmost importance. Indian CC Vienna elected to bat first with the intention of batting the opposition out of the contest. With rain reducing the affair to 8-overs-a-side, they had to go after the bowling from the outset without wasting any time.
That's exactly what transpired with Mehar Cheema coming out a man possessed. Bilal Zalmai had to bear the wrath of some belligerence on the part of Cheema as he was torn apart for 20 runs in his opening over. It was rather surprising that Zalmai sent down the first over too, given that overcast conditions would often call for a swing bowler to open the attack.
Nasrullah Marakhel wasn't to be spared either as Cheema was in a relentless attacking mood. Ranjit Singh had the best seat in the house as he witnessed the carnage from his end. Alas, there was to be no more post that with conditions not ideal for play and the covers coming on owing to the rain. It just never stopped thereafter, bringing the curtains down on this contest after just 2 overs of action.
Both teams will now split points and hope that this doesn't affect their momentum as they go along in the tournament. Having begun the season well, they will be keen to make their next match count and sustain that good run of form as their campaign rolls on.
Well, the inevitable has happened - the match has been abandoned! No further play will take place with the weather not relenting.
It's the same story at this point. The covers haven't moved from their place and the weather continues to have its say in proceedings here. Still hoping for the best so keep your fingers crossed folks!
Still no update yet on a possible resumption. We must have lost a few more overs by now. Keep those fingers crossed folks!
Mind you, the conditions didn't seem fit for playing either with the ground clearly wet. The covers are being placed over the pitch and this could take some time to resume. Let's hope it's not a huge delay although the conditions have to be safe for the players to resume!
Be it a spinner or a seamer, they're all taking some real tap today. It's just carnage of the highest order on display but alas, just as we say that, it has to come to a halt - the rain returns and off go the players with the covers coming on. Boo!

1.6 Nasrullah Mirakhel to Mehar Cheema, FOUR! Another half-volley outside the off-stump. Cheema gets underneath it and lofts it over the covers for four. Yeah, the players are walking off and the right decision has been made.
1.5 Nasrullah Mirakhel to Mehar Cheema, SIX! In the slot this time. Cheema clears his front leg and wallops it over mid-wicket for half-a-dozen
1.4 Nasrullah Mirakhel to Ranjit Singh, full and straight on this occasion. Ranjit drills it down to long-on for one. Not great conditions for the fielders, it must be said
1.4 Nasrullah Mirakhel to Mehar Cheema, wide. Sprays this well beyond the tramline with the ball rolling down to third man. Allows a single
1.3 Nasrullah Mirakhel to Mehar Cheema, full and wide outside the off-stump. Cheema drives it through extra cover and hustles back for the second run
1.2 Nasrullah Mirakhel to Ranjit Singh, pitched up in the off-stump line. Ranjit bunts it down to long-off for a single
1.1 Nasrullah Mirakhel to Ranjit Singh, back of a length outside the off-stump. Ranjit smacks it towards wide long-off and picks up two after a clumsy overthrow
Nasrullah Mirakhel comes into the attack
In a format like T10, you have no time to waste and simply have to tee off from the word go. In a contest that has been further reduced to 8 overs per side, that template becomes all the more critical. Indian CC Vienna have started in the best possible manner with Bilal Zalmai enduring a forgettable opening over. The Cricketer CC bowlers have to bowl tighter here.

0.6 Bilal Zalmai to Mehar Cheema, FOUR! Relentless from Cheema! Pitched up outside the off-stump, enough width on offer. Cheema crunches this over the covers the makes it 20 off the first over
0.5 Bilal Zalmai to Mehar Cheema, FOUR! Drags it down this time and Cheema cashes in. Pulled through square leg to find the boundary once more. This is turning out to be an expensive first over
