The Delhi Capitals are done with their league fixtures. 14 points is what they've gathered in them - with the Royal Challengers Bengaluru playing the Chennai Super Kings on Saturday and the Sunrisers Hyderabad having a couple of games left to play, their playoff chances look rather bleak at the moment.

The same goes for the Lucknow Super Giants. A loss for them tonight has sparked celebrations in the Rajasthan Royals' camp - the 2008-IPL champions are through to the playoffs! Arshad Khan's belated onslaught kept LSG's playoff hopes well and truly alive, but now, they hang by a thread. LSG need a resounding win against the Mumbai Indians on Friday, and they'll be desperate for results to go their way as well.

Ishant Sharma has been adjudged Player Of The Match! Here's what he has to say: The last few games I've been trying to bowl a knuckle ball, it was not going well. Had to bring something new, the last two games I've been working on these new slower balls, been working for me, got Virat out the last game. This time I got KL out. I don't really think too much about the time passed, playing after so long being a fast bowler, you don't have to think too much. Just looking forward to the day, Just want to thank Patrick (Farhart), because of him I've played all the 9 games. Had a few injuries, recovered thanks to him. After the defeats, we sit down together. There was a belief, which is very important to have at a higher level. We talked about how to come back after a big defeat. In this kind of competition, close wins give you confidence, and it's important to take the momentum forward.

Rishabh Pant (Delhi Capitals captain): He (Pooran) was giving us a really hard time, that kind of player with the calibre he has. We had a certain plan, though, the total was good enough, if he wanted to win it he should have gone after each delivery. We didn't let him do so. We started the season with a lot of hope, there has been the odd injury here and there, few ups and downs, as a franchise, you can't complain all the time. You've got to make use of what you have. You've got to make use of what you have. We were very close, though, we are still in contention for playoffs. There are some things you can control, some you can't. We would have had better chances of qualification had I played the previous match. Personally, it was fantastic to come back on the field. The kind of support I got from the whole of India was heartening to see, wherever I played I got the support from each an every person, that was great to see. Everyone knew I'm playing after one and a half years, loved every bit of it, I don't want to stay off the ground.

Right - time for the presentations now. Tristan Stubbs has been adjudged the Electric Striker Of The Match, and also the Ultimate Fantasy Player Of The Match!

Kuldeep Yadav (Delhi Capitals): It was a good wicket to bowl on, especially for the spinners. I thought in the second innings I was getting a little bit of grip. I was trying to spin the ball. That's what it was all about. Obviously the length matters but the wicket was a bit slow so I was trying to bowl a little fuller. Revs are very important. If you're playing on a good track it's easy to adjust the length but when the wicket is very slow you have to be perfect with your length. The pace is very important - I try to push the ball and revs are very important as well. (On DC's mathematical chances) We just came here to win the game and we won. That was important for us. Obviously the net run-rate matters a lot but let's see, we'll watch for a couple of days.

KL Rahul (Lucknow Super Giants captain): I feel the wicket remained pretty similar throughout the 40 overs. When we got Jake out in the first over we thought we started off really well and we should have capitalized on that. But that's how the season has been, even when wickets fall the players just keep coming and hit out. Shai Hope and Abishek Porel put pressure on us but we pulled it back at the back end. I think 200 was a par score and we should have chased it down. This has been a problem throughout the season - we keep losing wickets in the powerplay. We don't give our stars like Stoinis and Pooran the platform to walk out in the eighth over and carry on.

Ishant Sharma had the Lucknow Super Giants top-order on strings with some quality new-ball bowling. Having set Rahul up with an inswinger or two in the first over, he got one to move away from the LSG skipper, Rahul skewed it up towards deep point, and Mukesh completed a fine catch. Mukesh and Ishant combined again in his next over after the veteran fast-bowler enticed de Kock into a false stroke and spooned a catch to mid on, and once Stoinis ran past Axar Patel's first delivery of the night, LSG were in a soup.

Nicholas Pooran, though, was eager on taking the attack to the opposition, and launched into a mind-boggling counter-attack. Axar proceeded to concede 20 off the remainder of his first over as Pooran dug into his left-arm spin. But the wickets kept tumbling at the other end - Ishant trapped Hooda in front with an in-dipper, and an over after the end of the powerplay, Badoni tried to go big against Tristan stubbs and holed out. Pooran, though, kept going after everything in his radar, bringing up a half-century of his own in 20 deliveries.

Once Pooran smashed one low to Axar Patel's right at cover off Mukesh and perished in the 12th over, it seemed like the Capitals had this one in the bag. The Capitals, though, were in for a brutal shock - Arshad Khan emerged as a prominent obstacle in their way of a Net Run Rate-propelling victory. Arshad swung at anything and everything that came along in his radar - irrespective of spin or pace, and despite the loss of Krunal Pandya, the Super Giants were well in the contest with 5 overs remaining in the chase.

Yudhvir Singh Charak joined in on the act, clubbing Rasikh Salam for 10 in his first couple deliveries of the night. Pant went back to Khaleel for the 17th over, and more fireworks followed from Arshad. He picked the lengths right out the hand, picked his spots and hit the ball accordingly. The Capitals were under immense pressure going into the final three even as Khaleel accounted for Yudhvir off his final ball of the night.

Arshad kept fighting as the mistakes from the Capitals fielders compounded. Signs of frustrations began creeping in among the ranks of the Rishabh Pant-led side as Arshad brought the equation down to 29 off the last two. Mukesh Kumar, though, held his nerve, tucked Arshad for room, and with the momentum off his grasp, Arshad couldn't find the boundary on a single instance in the last two overs. The Capitals take two points, and just about stay in contention for a berth in the final four. Presentations coming up in a bit...
