So, with that, we come to the end of this WPL match from the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Join us again tomorrow in the evening to follow which of RCB and Gujarat Giants get their first win of the tournament. This is the pair of Pradeep and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Jess Jonassen has been adjudged the Player of the Match! Here is what she has to say.
Jess Jonassen: I think it was Jess the batter tonight! I went for few with the ball towards the end of my spell. I love my batting and always look forward to opportunities with the bat. As for my wicket of Alyssa Healy, it was a bit of a polite send-off because she hits a lot of sixes in practice against me! But we love a competition against each other whenever the chance comes.
Meg Lanning (Delhi Capitals Women captain): It has been a nice start to the tournament for us. Our batting has been well in order and I myself have enjoyed batting in these conditions here in India! With the pitches we have here, it's not a surprise to see 200+ totals to be honest. In a way, it is a great advertisement for the game. So far so good. The set-up at the Delhi Capitals has also been great and it's been pretty enjoyable up to now.
Marizanne Kapp (Delhi Capitals): Not so much with the bowling, but definitely enjoying my batting. I've been in really good form, have confidence and it's coming out nicely. The openers are brilliant, Meg once again today but we're blessed to have such a good all-round team. The way Jess came out firing was exceptional. I'm going to go have a bowl after the interview (chuckles). First match I was too full, this game I was too short and the backend it's so tough bowling, the fields are so small and the wickets are so good, when we go out to bat, we need to put good total on the board. It's still nothing like back home, sometimes you can close your eyes and bat, that's how easy out there and that's why it's tough to bowl to the batters.
Alyssa Healy (UP Warriorz captain): That's T20 cricket, we went for 65 runs of the last 5 overs of the bowling and lost three wickets in the powerplay, didn't quite go with the plan and stuffs to take from it and move forward with the next game. Not much, it was going to one or two but we would've killed for Grace in that situation at the end in the run chase, I thought Ismail was amazing up front and did exactly what was needed, we need to look where we can tidy up, if we had kept them at 180, we would've had a chance and McGrath didn't have someone at the other end for company. We knew, we had to come out firing, needed to string partnerships and needed someone to hand on with McGrath, I thought her knock was outstanding. The positive is, we're doing a lot of things right, letting go in small things, it's hard to train and fix it, it's all about mindset and just that little things that need to correct. Fingers crossed in the next couple of days to turn it around.
Barring a counter-attacking unbeaten knock from Tahlia McGrath, no other batter from the UP Warriorz could go past 25 runs in this innings. And there was just too much quality in the Delhi bowling attack in the end! A professional performance from Meg Lanning's team here, on all three fronts.
UP did not quite get their batting line-up right. Devika Vaidya and Simran Shaikh need to be moved up the order. Deepti Sharma needs to be utilized judiciously with the bat. She looked pretty tense with the bat in hand tonight when the opportunity presented itself to get a game-changing knock. They need to reconsider their middle-order going ahead.
The captaincy from Meg Lanning was top class! She rotated her bowlers really well and got the field placements right almost every time. Her fielders backed her up really well both with their catching and their ground fielding.
The bowling from Jess Jonassen and Shikha Pandey were highly impressive. Jonassen with her bowling under pressure and Pandey with he choice of length, stood out! The rest of the bowling too was decent, but Tara Norris got a reality check tonight after a fine outing in the last game.
So, with this win, Delhi Capitals Women register their 2nd straight win. UP Warriorz lose their first game of the competition. Of course, they have to find a away to fit Grace Harris in their eleven somehow. Otherwise, an impact player may be left unutilized on the bench.

19.6 Arundhati Reddy to Tahlia McGrath, THAT'S IT! Delhi Capitals pick up another comprehensive victory. McGrath lone effort goes in vain as Warriorz went down by 42 runs in the end. Full on the off-stump. McGrath gets inside the line to heave but toe ends it into the on-side for just one.
Last ball of the match coming up! This now is the highest individual score of the tournament incidentally. Tahlia McGrath is batting on 89.
19.5 Arundhati Reddy to Tahlia McGrath, FOUR! Radha Yadav almost pulled off another stunner at deep square-leg. McGrath hoicks the length delivery away. Radha comes diving full length to her left but that goes over and falls inside the ropes for a boundary.
19.4 Arundhati Reddy to Tahlia McGrath, SIX! SMOKED! Sensational shot from McGrath. Was a full toss on the stumps. McGrath gets inside the line and DISPATCHED it way over deep square-leg fence for a huge maximum.
There are four fielders out in the deep against both batters.
19.4 Arundhati Reddy to Tahlia McGrath, WIDE! Full but strays it way down the leg-side. Reddy has to reload that.
19.3 Arundhati Reddy to Simran Shaikh, full delivery on the stumps. Shaikh down the track too, whips it to deep square-leg for a single.
19.2 Arundhati Reddy to Tahlia McGrath, OH! Brilliant effort from Rodrigues, comes running from long-off and dives full length but just can't get to it. McGrath down the track has skied it straight down the ground, gets a single.
19.1 Arundhati Reddy to Tahlia McGrath, OH! Full and tails into McGrath. Steps down the track to whip but misses, thuds on the pad.
Arundhati Reddy, right-arm medium fast, is into the attack.
The last over is upon us now! There is still a mathematical possibility for UP to reach the target here. Both batters are in tune to play shots and the bowler will definitely feel the heat of that. We may be in for something special here.

18.6 Jess Jonassen to Simran Shaikh, FOUR! SHOT! Kapp can't stop that one as it was hit firmly by Shaikh. Leans into the good length outside off, Shaikh hammers it away and Kapp comes sliding to her right but can't stop it.
18.5 Jess Jonassen to Tahlia McGrath, goes full and well outside the off-stump. McGrath shuffles across and drills it to deep covers for a single.
