History

Delhi Capitals Women is one of five Women's Premier League (WPL) franchises. It is co-owned by the GMR-JSW Group, which owns the IPL franchise by the same name. The owners shelled out INR 810 Crores to acquire the rights to own the Delhi franchise.

The 2025 squad boasts names such as Jemimah Rodrigues, skipper Meg Lanning, Indian opener Shafali Verma, South African seam-bowling all-rounder Marizanne Kapp, England all-rounder Alice Capsey, and Australian SLA Jess Jonassen.

The Delhi Capitals Women has reached the finals of the Women's Premier League in each of the two previous instances but has yet to clinch the title. They lost to the Mumbai Indians Women in 2023 and to the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women last summer.

1. Jemimah Rodrigues

Jemimah Rodrigues can blow hot and cold at times, but when on a song, she is a sight to behold. Rodrigues has garnered a lot of success in leagues like The Hundred or the Women's BBL and for the Delhi Capitals Women in the WPL.

In 25 WPL matches, Jemimah has scored 473 runs @ 29.56/141.61 with three 50+ scores.

2. Meg Lanning

   

A multiple-World Cup winner and a run-scoring machine with the bat, Australia's Meg Lanning has led the Delhi Capitals Women from the front in the past two seasons.

Apart from leading the side to successive WPL finals, Lanning has been superb with the bat, scoring 847 runs in 25 matches @38.50/124.01 with eight 50+ scores.

3. Marizanne Kapp

   

An out-and-out pacer and a very handy batter, South Africa's Marizanne Kapp has been one of the MVPs for the Delhi Capitals Women thus far. In 22 innings, she has taken 26 wickets @19.53/5.97. The Proteas international has also racked up 315 runs @31.5/125.
