Commentary

So England waltz into the semifinals and they do it in some style! Tough day for South Africa at the office but they will look forward to the other two matches in their schedule. Tomorrow, we will see Sri Lanka take on Afghanistan in the second semifinal so do not forget to tune in to Sportskeeda's live coverage! This is Raghav and Soorya signing off for tonight!

Tom Prest, England captain: We got off to a great start with the ball once again. It took a special team to knock those runs away the way we did. Brevis is obviously a terrific player, and he was a crucial wicket for us to get out when he did. Rehan's done really well with the ball, and while we didn't see him with the bat today, he'll be eager to do so in the future. For us, Jacob is a fantastic player. We would have been delighted with 60 runs in the powerplay, but with 100, we can't ask for much more from the openers. Unbelievable feeling to get to the semifinal.

George van Heerden, South Africa captain: England, in my opinion, played fantastic cricket. They performed admirably. We got off to a good start, but we lost far too many wickets in the middle. Unfortunately, we were unable to take advantage of the overs in the end. We were at least 30-40 runs short. Of course, you back yourself in a quarterfinal with runs on the board, but England were just outstanding. Brevis is a fantastic talent that contributes much to our team in a variety of ways.

Jacob Bethell (Player of the Match): I think when we lost the toss we thought 240 was a good total. To keep them down to 210 was quite nice but I didn't expect to hit the ball quite like that. After the first couple of overs it felt good. You want to get off to a good start and be positive. I was just seeing the ball and just carried on really. When you see it well all your movements just happen really (well). I was focused on just watching the ball and that's why it came out well. We came in with a really good plan. Brevis played a nice innings again. But we planned well and did well out there with the ball.

What a win, what a win for England! They have completely blown away from South Africa today and outplayed them in all three departments of the game. A six-wicket victory with 112 balls to spare is as comprehensive as it gets. Losing the toss and being asked to field first, the English bowlers did a terrific job in restricting South Africa to 209. Dewald Brevis was the only standout batter for South Africa.

Chasing 210, England were always going to be the favourites but nobody would have expected them to come out and just demolish South Africa. Jacob Bethell played one of the knocks of the tournament and took England to a position from where losing would be impossible. Almost 50% of the target was chased down within the powerplay itself. Anything full or short or with some room was dispatched to boundary.

Once Bethell was finally dismissed by Tshaka, England already had too much on the board and the rest of the batters took it on from there with ease. Brevis was brought into the attack later by South Africa and he took two wickets displaying an all-round madness against England today. As far as South Africa are concerned, they couldn't have done anything better, they were totally blown away by one batter and recovery from that position was almost impossible.

31.2 Dewald Brevis to Will Luxton, SIX! LUXTON FINISHES IT IN STYLE! England waltz into the semifinals! In the slot on the off-stump and Luxton's eyes light up as he sits on one knee and slogs it a mile over mid-wicket to cap off an annihilation in fitting fashion. This has been dominance of the highest order from the Poms and they're the first team through to the semifinals of the Super League. England beat South Africa by 6 wickets and a mammoth 112 deliveries to spare!
